What is a Medical Pedicure?
A Medical Pedicure, also known as a Medi- Pedi, is a Foot Health Treatment followed by a nail paint using Dr.’s Remedy Enriched Nail Care polish.
A Medi- Pedi involves a full assessment of both feet. It includes obtaining a medical history and a visual clinical examination including vascular and neurological checks for diabetics or those with a vascular history.
We allow 45 minutes for the appointment and depending on the outcome of the assessment, the treatment may or may not include:
- A nail cut and file (and reduction of thickened nails, if necessary).
- Removal of hard skin (corns and callus).
- Treatment for any ingrown nails.
- Treatment for verrucae.
- Reduction of dry skin and cracked heels.
- Rehydration of the foot (moisturise of your feet using a high-quality podiatry cream).
- Care for the cuticle.
We will complete your appointment with a Dr.’s Remedy Enriched Nail Care polish of your choice.
We also discuss foot care, education, and hygiene to see what you can do outside of your appointment to help maintain and improve your feet. Most clients require a routine Foot Health Treatment every 6 to 8 weeks. This can be discussed with your Foot Health Practitioner based on your individual needs.
The use of products, orthotics and/ or insoles are discussed on an individual basis. Products used are available to purchase to help maintain your feet in between visits.
